Authority
on that Day
by Christina Havekost
Every heart desires to have authority. I believe
that
the most important kind of authority is to have
authority through love. That you are so confident in
the love that the Father has towards you that His
love
overflows over and touches lives and hearts. 1 John
4:17 says, "Love has been perfected among us in
this:
that we may have boldness in the day of judgment;
because as He is, so are we in this world." God
desires to perfect love in us. The love that is
between Him and His Son. The bond of love between
the
Father and the Son is deep and strong that nothing,
nothing can separate them. "That they all may be
one,
as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You, that they
also may be one in Us. " John 17:21 Jesus is so
yearning for us to have that perfected bond of love
also.
The first two commandments are proof of that.
"Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love
one another." 1 John 4:11 If we truly knew the Love
that God has towards us, our lives would reflect it.
Revelation of His burning love towards the human
heart
is life changing.
Choosing to love is also an important thing. Loving
the unlovable is a challenge. Do you see how the
choice of choosing the love is so powerful? If
someone
sincerely loves you, you are more willing to listen
to
what they say. For us as a people who know the
truth,
we must have authority on our lives, like Jesus, so
that we can be forerunners. That when we speak, the
power of God falls. "And they were amazed at His
teaching, for He taught as one having authority, and
not as the scribes." Mark 1:22
In order to have
authority in your speaking, you must have
confidence.
The most stable confidence that exists is confidence
in love. That no matter what you do, God's love is
the
same. The uncreated God's love is unconditional.
That
you are so confident in His smile towards you, that
you will go to extremes for Him with complete
confidence. When making the act of choosing to love,
you are pressed to feel His heartbeat. Because some
people are really hard to love, so you are forced to
embrace the heart of God towards you and others, and
that overflows.
Matthew 16:24 says, "If anyone desires to come after
Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and
follow Me." I believe that the cross is symbolizes
God's love. So if you want to be person after God's
own heart, you must take up his cross, love, and
follow in His footsteps of loving. How powerful is
that?
Jesus was confident in the Father's love. In
Proverbs
8:30-31 Jesus says, "Then I was beside Him as a
master
craftsman, and I was daily His delight, Rejoicing
always before Him, Rejoicing in His inhabited world,
and my delight was with the sons of men." The
amazing
relationship that the Father and Son have is so
awesome.
So I am encouraging you to make the choice of loving
others even when it is hard. Follow in the footsteps
of Jesus, the Man of Love. It is so freeing, because
when choosing to love, you are faced with the
decision
of forgiving offenses also. But remember that His
grace is sufficient for you. For in your weakness,
He
is strong.
