7 Thunders Update – July 2005

“The sending out of the Red Warriors”

  St. Louis Siege

Recently Kirk and a team went to St. Louis to do a Silent Siege in front of an abortion clinic. This siege starts the Summer of Siege, as we have been calling it. It is the first siege out of 9. Hope Clinic is located right outside of St. Louis in a city called Granite City. It is in a very industrial part of town situated right next to a huge steel factory. As we reached the clinic on the first day, we could just feel the oppression radiating from the ground.
Right across the street from Hope Clinic is a hospital. What really hit me was that in reality, we truly were standing in the gap between life (the hospital) and death (the clinic).  We were a wall surrounding the clinic.  But as we drove up, we saw this huge group of people waiting for us. 140 people showed up the first day. As we all stood in front of the clinic, and as the sun beat down in ungodly temperatures, God encountered us in such a way that He never has before. As we watched women being escorted out of the clinic in their pajamas just having had abortions, we encountered the heart of the Father.

Iowa City Siege
Siege #2 Iowa City. By far on of the hardest sieges we have done. If you didn’t know already, Iowa City is a big college town.  The Emma Goldman Clinic is a small cabin-like building. There was not a period longer than 5 minutes where were we didn’t have someone driving by yelling…”Get a job!” or “Get a life!” I don’t think I have been cussed at more in my life.
Yes, it’s been very interesting. The word “Iowa” means sleepy. And yes that is what we were. There was so much complacency and spiritual oppression in the atmosphere you could cut it with a knife. I think we all realized that we will be in this battle for life, that we aren’t warring against flesh and blood but darkness and principalities. With a predominantly homosexual staff, we soon realized that the spirit of deception around this issue was much more involved with this then we thought.

Siege Tour in August

On August 1, we leave for a month long Summer of Justice Tour. We will be going to a total of 6 cities across the northwest sieging abortion clinics in each city. We will have daily updates on the website, Bound4lifekc.com. There will be more on this issue in our next newsletter.

Prophetic Seer Class

Kirk recently finished his July J-Term “Prophetic Seer Class” with IHOP’s Forerunner School of Ministry. The class talked about questions like, “What does it mean to be a seer these days? What does the Bible have to say about the spiritual realm? How is seeing connected to intimacy with God? And (according to Revelation 4:1) how do you get “up” there anyway? It was a huge success as 35 people walked away with a greater biblical foundation as well as hunger for the Seer Realm. Kirk tag-team taught the class with 7 other IHOP seers, which was a wonderful way for the class to hear a variety of personal encounters and gain different perspectives into this many-faceted realm. This quick J-Term class seems to be a “warm-up” of the Dreams and Visions class that Kirk will offer with FSM in the fall!

(J-Term = a short January, June, or July class)

 Prayer Requests

·        The 7 Thunders staff  – Luke Ahrenholtz, Courtney Arrington, Katie Bennett, Andy and Bek Hickman, Rebekah Myers, Mercy Falkner,  and the siege teams. That the Spirit of Grace and supplication would continue in them to pray and prophesy; especially as they embark on this month long siege for justice.

·        Kirk - Pray that he has understanding and revelation on eschatology of a culture of life.

Kirk & Dee Bennett

·        Isaac, Katie, and Abby – Increased joy and zeal for God. Something of real power is continuing to happen with our children, and we’re asking for the Spirit to guard and disciple them in it.
