As I remember it was about 1985 when I began to come into the things of the
spirit, especially prophecy, specifically in the area of dreams. I wasn’t trained in the
things of the Holy Spirit things but people would begin to ask me what dreams
meant! I was a little offended at first but I found myself understanding these dreams.
The value in taking time to process with God in the area of prophesy rather than just
speaking the word is immeasurable.
Breathe prophesy is the story of my journey into prophecy, specific dreams
and encounters I had with the Lord. I learned in 5 years to clearly hear His voice. We
found that to grow in the area of prophecy is to learn from others who have already
walked before on that road. Our forefathers were trained in prophecy and trained
others to prophesy. As we pursue God and learn from the ones who have walked
before us, we grow deeper and have an opportunity for greater revelation and the
greater works that Jesus promised us.
The act of prophecy is simply receiving God’s breath and breathing out God’s
breath with our words. The process of taking in His breath and letting it transform
you on the inside, is like the oxygenated blood from God Himself. It becomes a great
inspiration and the process of internal transformation. Prophecy is first for the place
of prayer and encounter; and not always to proclaim to others.
