International House
of Prayer, Kansas City
In September 1999, the International House of Prayer began its 24-hour a day
schedule of worship and intercession which consists of twelve 2-hour prayer
meetings each day. Our prayer goal is to see a 24 hour a day, citywide, interdenominational houses of
prayer (in the spirit of the Tabernacle of David) established in every major
city of the earth before the Lord's return!

About IHOP:
The Holy Spirit is orchestrating a global prayer strategy far eclipsing any other prayer movement in history resulting in an unprecedented harvest of souls and completing the Great Commission.
People gather from various states abroad and from overseas to be on staff at the International House of Prayer.
These people are called Intercessory Missionaries who are giving their lives to the work of prayer. They are declaring the purposes of God over the cities and seeking to understand and agree with His intentions for the remaining years of human history.
During the course of each day, as each day, at the prayer room several hundred people will come through the prayer room and participate in intercession.
Many are flocking to the House of Prayer, individuals and families who have raised their own financial support to give themselves to a life of intercessory worship.
This form of prayer is called “harp and bowl”, which combines worship and intercession.
The 24 elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a HARP, and golden BOWLS full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.
(Revelation 5:8) The harp speaks of God’s song and the bowl of God’s prayers.
When God is ministered to in worship and intercession, we obtain His heart for His people, His cities, and the earth.
They call their intercessory mission base, “a singing seminary”.
Paul speaks in Colossians 3:16, “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”
One of the worship formats is called worship with the word. This format is the best way to grow deep in revelation knowledge of the Word and heart tenderizing in worship as we change.
The Lord has promised to release joyful prayer to His church. Even them I will bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in My house of prayer…for my house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations.”
(Isaiah 56:7) This allows people to go night and day with joyful prayer, and changes the atmosphere in the city.

Mike Bickle directs this ministry organization. His vision is to equip forerunners, to fully fulfill their calling.
The International House of Prayer has three purposes 1) to Encounter God in a personal way that transforms us. 2) To change the spiritual atmosphere of the city thus opening the heavens for more anointed evangelism 3) to contribute to unity to the church in the city.
